Maple Old-Fashioned

1 orange wedge
1 teaspoon maraschino cherry juice
2 teaspoons maple syrup
4 dashes bitters
1 1/2 ounces brandy or bourbon
sour soda (50-50 brand preferred) or sweet soda (like 7-Up)
Maraschino cherry and orange slice

Mash orange wedge, cherry juice and maple syrup with a fork in a 12-ounce rocks glass. Fill with ice. Add bitters and liquor. Pour in soda to fill glass. Stir vigorously. Garnish with cherry and orange slice. Serves 1.
